Canada adds 64K jobs, unemployment rate holds steady

The Canadian labour market added 64K jobs (+0.3%) in September, concentrated in part-time work. Job gains were outpaced by population growth (+82K; +0.3%) and the employment rate rose 0.1 percentage points to 62.0%.

The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.5% for the third consecutive month.
